Formation spécialisée:
I am a social worker practicing psychotherapy and providing clinical supervision. I enjoy supporting professionals who work with trauma, grief, and substance use, to promote anti-oppressive practice and self care. I also consult with community agencies to offer program review, on site training, and supervision. I understand trauma as any wounding of the Spirit. I use an integrated approach in working with people to make sense of painful or challenging experiences. This approach can involve a range of western psychotherapeutic frameworks, combined with mindfulness, acupuncture, and Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches.
My psychotherapeutic work with survivors often involves enhancing and building skills to manage the impacts of complex, interpersonal, intergenerational, or systemic violence, including sense of self, relationships, grief and loss, flashbacks, nightmares, dissociation, challenging emotions, and substance use. Together, we create goals that make sense to you, and work at your pace.
Déclaration personnelle:
I have more than a decade of experience supporting people who are in conflict with the law, and who are living with impacts of substance use, complex trauma, and systems oppression through individual and group counselling, This work is done in both community and prison settings. I currently co-facilitate groups on grief and loss, women’s wellbeing, substance use awareness, and acupuncture for substance use and trauma.
