Formation spécialisée:
I support individuals with challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma and abuse, substance use, relationship issues, connection and belonging, loss and grief, and stressful life changes. Through providing warm, experiential and compassionate support I aim to create a space that feels accepting, empowering and has lots of room for exploration. I emphasize a holistic approach and the importance of exploring the mind body connection in healing. All of my work is trauma informed and rooted in anti-oppression and intersectional feminism. My practice welcomes individuals of diverse gender identities, sexualities, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, ages, abilities, and lifestyles.
Déclaration personnelle:
I draw from various modalities and frameworks to guide our work. Relational Psychotherapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, mindfulness, intersectional feminism and anti-oppression are the basis of my approach. These terms may be unfamiliar to you and that is more than okay. What it means is that our work begins with creating a safe and supportive environment. I combine talk therapy and mindful awareness of the mind body connection to explore your concerns, develop a deeper understanding and cultivate the change you seek. This may be through helping you calm your nervous system, becoming aware of tension/holding patterns, working with strong emotions that have been suppressed or are overwhelming, working with limiting beliefs, or helping understand and trust your body’s cues more fully. I use a collaborative approach to create space for us to check in with each other throughout sessions. For more information visit my site www.aloramartindownie.com.
