Personal Statement:
I am a clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families with complex needs. I believe in working with strengths to work through the difficulties that bring people into therapy. I work with people to build coping skills and resiliency as well as to explore recurring themes to help determine how they are impacting one's ability to manage challenges. I believe in working together to achieve goals effectively and as efficiently as possible. The various theoretical and clinical modalities I work from allow me to practice in a way that uniquely fits with each individual and family I work with. This allows the focus of our work to be on issues in the present, past, and/or associated with life's transitions. I have been teaching graduate level courses since 2011 in psychodynamic theory, family theory, family therapy and group therapy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Social Work and Smith College School for Social Work. I have also supervised therapists and MSW students both clinically and academically.
