Specialized Training:
I earned a B.A. in literature in 1972 and a Masters degree in Social Work in 1975. In the intervening years, I worked in Ontario family services and then opened a private practice in Toronto and more recently in Barrie, Ontario I continued my education by taking courses in family therapy, Gestalt therapy, Bioenergetics, Jungian psychology, dream analysis, music therapy, and mandala and art therapy to name some of the highlights of my education. I have placed an emphasis on using creativity as a way of helping people to gain access to their strengths and I have worked as an artist and a writer, myself, for the same reason. Perhaps, my most significant education has come from the privilege of working with all kinds of people for over 35 years.
Personal Statement:
My way of working as a therapist is to get to know you: your aspirations, your talents, your difficulties, your unique way of thinking and expressing yourself. Then together, we figure out what will work best for you. Over the years, I have learned many systems of psychological thought and many techniques, but each person is different, and I strongly believe that the method must be adapted to the needs of each individual.
I work with individuals, couples, families and groups, always keeping in mind the specific needs of the people involved.
