Areas of expertise include offenders charged with sexual, violent, child pornography, harassing or domestic assault offences. I conduct risk assessments and initiate individual customized treatment programs. I also provide therapeutic support for individuals, couples and families and assist those struggling with separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, workplace stress, work-life balance and adjustment to parenting. I present workshops on a wide variety of mental health topics.
Personal Statement:
I believe that every client and client group can achieve their goals within a therapeutic relationship in which rapport and trust are established through authenticity and empathy. I offer individual, couple and family treatment for a wide variety of personal struggles. My special skills include providing assessment and treatment for adults and adolescents struggling with sexual behaviour problems, anger management (domestic assault), anxiety, school and/or workplace stress, substance abuse, parenting and relationship conflicts. Forensic report writing for sexual and violent offences and domestic assault are also among my areas of expertise.
I also provide trainings and workshops and am an enthusiastic and dynamic presenter who strives to illustrate concepts with case examples and infuses my presentations with humour where appropriate.
I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, am a registered mental health counselling services provider with NIHB, and am a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.
Sex Therapy: Intensive, collaborative plans for the offender or the spouse. Work in consult with legal professionals, child protections agencies/schools, providing Pre-Sentence Reports and Risk Assessments. Marriage & Family Therapy: Support with sexual deviance, bereavement, terminal illness, job loss, infidelity, criminal activity & adolescent conflict. Individual Therapy: Short & long-term counseling.
