Personal Statement:
Nature-Assisted Intervention (NAI) is an emerging modality that incorporates thoughtful use of animals, plants and outdoors to foster therapeutic growth and personal development. Partnering of NAI and traditional therapy techniques is an especially effective medium to engage children and young people. At CCHTC in addition to offering traditional form of counselling in a formal setting of a private office, we offer a unique approach of utilising the resources of the natural environment to engage clients in the therapeutic process. We are located on a 10 acre private property where therapy can be provided either on site or in the natural landscape of the nearby hiking trails, where natural settings in themselves become places of healing and restoration.
