Personal Statement:
A combination of academic studies, my personal experiences, and 20 years of social work practice taught me that we all have a survivor within us; something innate that holds us together when we feel like falling apart (resiliency?). It's a brilliant evolutionary strategy – however, white knuckling it is an unhappy way to live.
Having worked with an extensive spectrum of clients over the years, I have found tailoring my practice to helping clients move past talking about their experience to processing through it warrants the most success. The goal is never just to "cope with" but rather to "move past" and begin living, instead of just surviving. Together we can tailor techniques that work for you.
