Personal Statement:
Mackenzie is a registered clinical social worker and psychotherapist. After working abroad for 3 years, Mackenzie returned to Canada to complete a Master’s in Social Work (MSW). Since completing her MSW in 2010, she has provided therapy to individuals and families for a wide range of issues. As a therapist trained and experienced in several models of therapy, Mackenzie adapts her approach based on your needs and preferences. The main models of therapy that she is trained in and uses in her work are: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); · Attachment-focused Family Therapy; Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT); and Internal Family Systems. Mackenzie works hard to connect with clients and to provide a counseling experience that feels connected and productive. She brings humour, warmth and creativity to the counseling room. Her approach is non-judgmental and anti-oppressive and respects cultural, gender, sexual, class and racial diversity. Mackenzie is a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW – registration # 820430) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW membership # 10305).
