Specialized Training:
My practice is collaborative, non-judgemental, and all are welcome. I specialize in family and individual therapy with children of all ages. This includes parent counseling, the under six population, children, and teenagers. I have worked with children and families seeking support around parent-child relationships, family communication, behaviour management, emotion regulation, parenting strategies, anxiety, depression and more. I am trained in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Watch, Wait and Wonder, and Reflective Family Play (the latter two are attachment based play therapies). I am also currently enhancing my capacity to offer Emotion-Focused Therapy. I use an attachment based lens in my assessments and collaborative treatment plans, and always consider the individual and family in their unique individual, social, and environmental contexts.
Personal Statement:
I am a registered social worker and have been working as a child and family therapist for the past eight years. I earned my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto and my Honours Psychology degree at the University of Ottawa.
I currently work four days a week as a Child and Family Therapist at SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, formerly the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre. I have also worked at Kinark Child and Family Services, Holland-Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and interned as a social worker at the Toronto District School Board. In my free time I love to play outside with my daughter, read and discuss books, crochet, and wish I was better at doing yoga regularly.
