Specialized Training:
I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families with a variety of mental health related issues. My specializations include trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, relational issues, somatization and conversion disorder. I have received my training through various hospitals including The Hospital for Sick Children and Women's College Hospital.
Personal Statement:
I believe that even while experiencing hardship and struggle, every person has resiliency. I am committed to helping individuals find their strengths in order to reduce distress and live happier, healthier lives. I am oriented towards providing a non-judgemental, warm and empathetic environment as we work collaboratively to achieve therapeutic goals. I use a client-centred and integrated approach drawing on evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, relational psychotherapies and mindfulness based treatments. Using a cognitive behavioural perspective, I help clients discover how past experiences are affecting their current thoughts, emotions and behaviour in order to stimulate change.
