Specialized Training:
I work from an integrated anti-oppressive, cognitive-behavioural therapy and psychodynamic approach. I can provide short-term or longer term therapy through collaborative goal setting.
Personal Statement:
I offer individual psychotherapy in a central location. I have clinical experience working with addictions, people living with and affected by HIV, broader LGBT communities, adolescents, and newcomers to Canada. Common issues faced by my clients include: sexuality, identity, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, & trauma. My therapeutic approach is an integration of cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic and anti-oppressive practice.
In addition, I provide consulting and training services in areas of anti-oppression and “cultural competency”, social determinants of LGBT health, healthy relationships, intersections of mental health and sexual health, counselling skills, and more. I can also provide mental health case consults for teams. For more information, visit www.affectiveconsult.ca
