Personal Statement:
I work within a solution-focused, strength-based, and anti-oppressive framework. I believe that we often focus on the problem rather than the positive aspects of a situation. We have all been through difficult times and have managed to deal with them effectively. Those skills are transferable but we often do not think that they are. A strength-based philosophy in my practice holds the core belief that everyone has strengths and resources to varying degrees. The focus is simple, although not always easy. It is to identify what is going well, to do more of it, and to build on it. You will find me to be an astute listener and an empathetic non-judgmental person.
