Specialized Training:
I specialize in arts based health and wellness coaching with helping professionals who are exposed to high stress and at times high trauma due to the nature of their work. My clients include social workers, therapists, counsellors, coaches, healers, health care providers, as well as health, human and social service leaders. I help these professionals prevent and/or address the occupational hazards including job stress, critical incident stress, burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma - at both the individual and organizational level. I offer both one-to-one coaching, group coaching programs and resources that educate and support helping professionals with self-care, stress management, work-life balance, workplace wellness and life/career satisfaction. My services are relevant to both personal and professional development, are evidence based, and are accessed virtually via telephone, teleconferences and e-learning options (as such they are not geographically dependent) as well as in person on Salt Spring Island and at client locations.
Personal Statement:
As a registered social worker as well as a certified professional life coach, I adhere to the ethical guidelines of both professional groups. I offer a free Self-Care Assessment, as well as Spirited Self-Care Guided Meditation Mini Retreat, and a subscription to my biweekly Creative Wellness Tips and Tools Museletter – access to all three resources is through my website. I believe the self-care, health and well-being of helping professionals is an ethical imperative and foundational to both quality practice and quality of life for professionals whose work is in service to the health, well-being, growth and at times safety of others. The well-being of helpers is a shared responsibility between the professional themselves, their employers, and their professional associations - we benefit from working together to stay healthy, well and fit to practice in high stress/high trauma/high touch (emotional labour) fields of work. I value being in service to you.
