Personal Statement:
A registered clinical social worker (RCSW) with over 15 years experience providing counselling and psychotherapy, Megan is known for her warm, empathic therapeutic style and her commitment to clinical excellence. Megan has dedicated her professional life to counselling clients with mood and anxiety disorders, as well as other mental health conditions. Formerly, she worked as EAP professional, helping clients with a wide range of life issues, including addictions, grief/loss, trauma, life transitions and relationship difficulties. Megan considers herself an ally to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (GLBTQ) communities, who comprise a significant portion of her clientèle. Megan's therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from: cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, client directed outcome informed therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, Gottman-method couples counselling, meditation/mindfulness training and humanistic and psychodynamic therapies. Megan always employs a strengths-based perspective to her practice and places a high value on accountability, ethics, best practices and the sanctity of the therapeutic relationship. Megan meets primarily with individuals; couples and family counselling is provided on a limited basis. More recently, Megan has opened her practice to include clinical supervision for registered social workers and other counselling professionals. Megan welcomes you to call or email her to make an appointment or arrange for a free 15-minute phone or in-person consultation.
