Specialized Training:
I offer short and long term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups, from a deeply compassionate, collaborative, client centred and relational perspective using various forms of therapy to empower clients to emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually thrive. My training in Somatic Psychotherapy has led me to a trauma informed, body centred approach with the understanding that the body holds the information we need to heal. I draw additionally on resources which include; Bodynamics, Attachment Theory, Jungian Theory, Psychodynamic Therapy, Child Play Therapy, Transactional Analysis Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Personal Statement:
There are various issues that come up in life, from every day life stresses to unimaginable trauma. We all cope differently with what life has given us and heal in our own unique way. I work with all ages and cover a large area of personal issues in my practice because life presents a lot and we are often dealing with more than one issue at a time, the issues often overlap and the transitions can become overwhelming. I believe in the mind/body connection and the healing power of relationships. Therefore I take a body centred approach to healing while drawing on an extensive range of other therapeutic approaches. Each session is tailored to where the client is at in the moment and from the belief that somewhere in all of us, no matter how deeply we have been wounded, we have the resources we need to heal.
