Specialized Training:
I bring a compassionate and skilled approach to counselling sessions where individuals can safely explore personal issues. Mindfulness and other skill based therapies like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy help to increase self awareness, alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety and to cope with overwhelming emotions.
My counselling methods also draw from psychology theories influenced by CG Jung, and may utilize journaling, art, looking at your dreams or other creative approaches to help reveal a deeper understanding.
Personal Statement:
As a Social Worker registered with the BC College of Social Workers, I have enjoyed many years of experience counselling individuals, couples and groups. I utilize a flexible approach to suit the individual and their current focus. You may be experiencing a life transition, coping with grief and loss, adjusting to illness, injury or disability, struggling with symptoms of depression or anxiety, distressed by past abuse or trauma...or you may just want to a retreat from the busyness of life to discover or rediscover who you are and what is truly important to you. Exploring personal issues in a safe and supportive way can be rewarding and healing.
